Spring in the Missouri Ozarks
April 23 - 26, 2026
Join Craig McCord for a 3½‑day immersive spring photography workshop in the heart of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. As the landscape comes alive with fresh color, soft light, and flowing water, you’ll photograph historic mills, cascades, bluffs, and spring-fed streams at their most vibrant. With thoughtful, hands‑on field instruction, you’ll refine your technical skills while creating expressive, meaningful images. Encounters with the region’s wild horse herds are possible as well—always approached with patience and respect. This workshop offers an inspiring blend of spring beauty, creative exploration, and exceptional photographic opportunities.
Typical Shooting Locations include (but not limited) to:
Klepzig Mill
Alley Spring and Mill
Rocky Falls, Upper and Lower areas
Little Rocky Creek Shut-ins
Blue Spring
Falling Spring Mill
Prairie Hollow Gorge
Welsh Spring
Wild horses of Shannon County (provided they cooperate)
This workshop will focus on hands-on field photography. You will be given personal attention to help you not only come away with memorable images, but also help you expand your knowledge and grow as a photographer and inspire your creative vision. Some actual assignments will be encouraged focusing on certain techniques, e.g., macro and wide-angle. This workshop will include at least one image review session and discussion about composition, exposure, and how to gain control using manual camera settings. Workflow techniques involving post processing in Lightroom, Photoshop and NIK plugins will also be demonstrated.
