January 6 - 10, 2023

Winter in Big Sur is more than just a getaway.  Amazing photographic opportunities will await you, including beautiful sunbeams through Keyhole Arch, crashing surf against sea stacks, and amazing photographic views along every mile.  We will explore coves and arches, and unique locations within Point Lobos Nature Preserve.  If there was ever a chance to fill up all your memory cards, this is it.  The stretch along Highway 1 and the Big Sur coast is without a doubt among the most beautiful in California.  Don't miss this opportunity to Join Craig on this breathtaking photo adventure.

The workshop is open to all skill levels and the workshop will be limited to only 6 participants.  This will ensure quality one-on-one instruction time will all attendees.  The emphasis will be on field instruction; however, there will be some time for constructive image review and post processing demonstrations using Lightroom, Photoshop and NIK and Luminar plugins.  The overriding objective is helping capture memorable images while helping you advance your photographic skills to the next level.

Most locations are easily accessible.  There will be some locations that may require some hiking and/or walking over rocks in wet conditions that require sure footing.  Accordingly, you must be in good physical condition and have adequate hiking shoes.

Some of the opportunities we will explore:

  •  Point Lobos
  • Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park
  • Garrapata State Park
  • Garrapata Beach
  • Hurricane Point
  • Rocky Point
  • Keyhole Arch
  • Bixby Bridge
  • and more...
