Kansas Prairie Nights
Workshop instruction includes:
Classroom: Initial instruction subjects will include equipment, focusing techniques, camera settings, evaluating exposure, composing, best times for night photography, locating the Milky Way, shooting star trails, light painting techniques, and more.
Night Shoot: Following our class we will venture out to a predetermined location to put into practice techniques learned during the afternoon classroom session. We will capture both the Milky Way as well as star trail images. Craig will be by your side to coach you along in creating some great night images.
Post Processing: The next morning (Aug 3rd), after some rest at our lodging at the ranch, we will conduct a post process class, using the images we captured the night before. It is recommended you bring along your laptop (optional) to get the most of the post processing session.
Lodging: The Flying W Ranch will be accommodating our lodging requirements at their beautiful guest lodge and cabins. Here we get some rest before beginning our post processing session. Lodging is not included in the workshop fee and your reservations for lodging should be made directly with the Flying W. Their contact information, as well as very interesting information about their ranch, can be found at this link: Flying W Ranch.
Meals: The Ranch will be providing a chuck wagon meal after the initial classroom session and before we venture out for our evening of night photography. The next day a lunch will also be offered following our post processing class. The evening meal and lunch on Sunday are included in the workshop fee.
